Got another 3 points today, well I say, it was much quicker from 10 to 20 than it was from 0 to 10, I am now on 21.5 total, what number day are we?

That was the before photo, taken back in December. Still not King Leonidas, but somewhat more defined than back then. To really bring out the definition a strict diet needs to be followed. My love of dark beer interferes a bit.
Seeing the abs is the bonus. Increased performance and endurance is the real payoff. One of these days I will post a new photo. Honestly, I felt kind of weird posting the 1st pic, so I have been reluctant to do it again.

Ah GFD I knew we had more in common that diametrically opposed abs. A Nice pint of Stout followed by a whisky chaser, would go down mighty well, but I live in the land where the grape is god and the grain is mere mouthwash.
I am drinking less as I do more excercise, stress related, my definition is starting show :-) Top abs coming through now. I should take a pic and put it up.

25.5 +2.5 = 28 in total. Tough day, planned a cycle didn't happen, hottest day on record ever for the month of June 32C, had the day off too, so did needful house stuff. I hate when life gets in the way. Will be posting a pic GFD very soon of me and my belly on taken on day 15 I think. Will post it and the one at the end of the 50 days too.

Sharon, I have never done the butterfly but would guess it is possible. It seems like the core gets torked quite a bit when throwing the shoulders forward.

2.5 today brings me up over the 30 total .....30.5 whew faster from 20-30 than from 10 to 20, I am beginning to see a patern but visitors at the weekend cramp my style. ... .hmmm

I REALLY wanted to do some last night, but I did my 1st full century ride in 100 degree weather, and I was "cooked", for lack of a better word. I kept saying, "just get on the floor and do 50", but my body rebelled and fell asleep instead.

Did MS150 over the weekend, unfortunately weather didn't cooperate and we started the ride 3 hours later because of rain. They cut the course to 60miles instead of 100 on saturday and sunday we rode 80, overall 140 and we were trying to push all the way since we didn't get to ride 175. Next day my core was hurting so i count that as core exercise ;) but not adding count to my total based on that.
So far 3 more this morning, total 73

Hey man I am struggling 10pm at night I finally talked myself into getting out two points. I am so tired. A lot going on in life, my sports are my only release and man I am tired. But damn it, you said it was hard work. 38.5 in total, damn I couldn't even go for the other half point.... But I am still here :-)

I wish I had someone as hardcore as you to train with me here. I have to be my training partners' cheerleader to get them out in a drizzle. (I would do it by myself, but it's usually 4:30 am and dark...and I promised hubby I wouldn't run by myself in the dark anymore)

It would be cool to have a training partner that pushed me. MY running buddy is making the transition to tri. I have been helping him in the pool (stop laughing. some of the best coaches weren't good players :-) and we will be going on a ride together Sunday. He is training for a sprint and the NYC marathon, so I have company on my long runs. It is nice to be able to finally talk triathlon with someone without feeling like I am putting them to sleep. I have tried to get my daughter to do abs with me. No luck.
4:30 am and dark. Good idea to not run.

Just one point today..........hey it's okay. I have my best friend arrived, cooked a great meal of steak and spinnach, followed by cheese and honey, followed by fresh pinneapple........then just cracked out a simple 100 reps for 1 point...

Round 4
Core through the race season and summer should be a challenge. As always, everyone is welcome to participate as much as or as little as you would like.
Rules:
1. 100 reps = 1 point.
2. 1 minute of timed exercises(planks etc.) = 50 reps.
3. Core specific exercises only. Abs, obliques, lower back.
4. Begin May 26 and End July 14 (The 14th counts for total pts).
5. You are NOT out if you miss a day, but the goal is to work the core for 50 straight days.
6. On this thread, we can post our daily or weekly totals and share routines/results. etc.
7. The picture page can be used for those interested in before and after pics.
8. Pushups should be counted separately and should remain in their own category.
50 pushups = 1 point.
9. Determine the added worth of certain exercises and give yourself the extra points.
Ex. Reverse roman chair leg raises might be worth double. So 50 = 1 point.
This is not a competition, it is for personal improvement, so this won't be a problem.
