Buffered Salt Tabs: Chew'em?

where do you get salt tablets from? I live in NYC and we can usually get anything here but haven't been able to come across them. I cramped horribly at IM China (and actually didn't finish due to how bad it got) and I was told I was sodium deprived

Succeed! are avalible on their web site. I got the Thermotabs over the counter at a pharmacy.

I don't know anything about buffered salt tablets, but for other medications, chewing or splitting them eliminates some of their 'buffer.'
Did a quick search of the archive but didn't see this one answered. I’m going to try using thermotabs buffered salt tablets (similar to succeed!) on my long run tomorrow. Do you chew them when you take them or swallow them whole? I cramped up really bad in the last 8 miles of my first ultra about a year ago. Think I was sodium deprived.
