I'm in the market for a new set of tires for my Cervelo. They came with Vittoria Rubino Pro's, which have been alright. But I'm wondering if anyone has any particularly strong feelings toward a specific tire. I am fairly competitive, and focus on Ironman, with a few half's and olympics thrown in. I use the same wheels/tires for training and racing, so I'd like them to provide a decent mix of speed and durability. Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks.

Michelin Pro Race 3
400g per pair, ~$100 for two, good durability, good color options, high PSI (I roll on 120+), nice and soft/tacky cornering sections, strong side wall. No complaints. The only 'trouble' I've had is when they are brand new, the kevlar bead is so tight that it is nearly impossible to get them over the rim.

I say this so much that they should be paying me, but check out the prices at probikekit.com on those tires. I got a set for $65 shipped a few weeks ago.
I like the Continental Grand
I like the Continental Grand Prix Race/Attack combo. Good traction in many conditions - not just on hot days with perfect roads. I don't have experience with the Pro Race 3's - and I do hear good things about them - but I've always had continental tires and I've never had any problems with them.

I really liked my Continental 3000 back when I used them, too.
i like the pro race 3's
i like the pro race 3's also. I've ridden them for a year now without any flats, plus theyre very fast tires. Only problem is that, from my understanding, they can be very inconsistent. A pretty serious cyclist came into the bike shop a few days ago and bought some, he came back yesterday and said that he had gotten two flats in one ride. Obviiously there could've been other factors, but i'm just throwing that out there.

Conti GP 4000's...have them on my roadie that I raced and trained on last year, and am putting them on my P2 when I get closer to racing...want to wear the stock tires a little more if I can first

I don't have tons of experience on different tires. but I'm a fan of Contis as well. I used a set of Michelin Pro2s a few years back, but had a couple of flats due to the usual bits of glass on the road. They also wore down relatively fast. I haven't tried the Pro3 Races.
I went back to using Conti GP 4000 and 4000s and have been really happy with durability and puncture resistance. They're a little heavier than a race specific tire, but I train/race on them, and they've been great!
Great, thanks all for the
Great, thanks all for the feedback. Looks like Pro 3s or GP 4000s.

No, but Continental has a set called Attack/Force that are supposedly designed for front and rear use. I don't know anyone who has used these, so more of an FYI for you.
I have the Conti
I have the Conti Attack/Force tires but only got a couple rides in on my road bike with them before I decided to save them for race tires. They seemed like great tires for what little I road on them, we'll see in June how well they work out for racing.
