Compression tops for people dealing with Lymphedema after breast cancer
Hi Lea,
Sorry to hear of your recent bout with breast cancer but glad you caught it early enough. I wear SKINZ leggings and really like them for recovery - they also have tops too - http://www.skins.net should be a start to look at their products, otherwise I've also heard good things about the 2XU compression gear: http://www.2xu.com/compression/ma1089a.html
Hopefully you can find something good enough to get you out running again!
Michelle
I'd recommend Zoot. Skins or 2xu don't compare when it comes to Zoot's compression. I've tried both 2xu and Skins on and neither feel compressive IMO. I'd suggest Goggling some of the testings all three companies have done on their compression and you'll see what I mean. Skins and 2XU size of S, M, L where as Zoot sizes off of your actual measurements to achieve adequate compression in the places you need it most . I wear the Zoot recovery tights and active socksand feel they have a lot of benefit. I'm going to try the tops out soon to help with long bike upper body fatigue and lat fatigue from high intensity swims.

*Smile, it does a body good*
Zoot compression is the closest to medical grade compression you can get and is very well built. TO be honest though, zoot compression does not have sufficient torso/chest compression to offer you any benefit. I would ask your doctor what he recommends in terms of a medical grade compression top.
What you're describing is incredibly common for women post breast cancer treatment. It's also the #1 cause of breast cancer survivors are afraid to exercise. I would talk to your oncologist and see if s/he has any advice. They could refer you to a Physical Therapist who specializes in the treatment of lymphedema (these are very common and easy to find if you live near a major city). Just my 2 cents, I'm a PT student so I'm biased towards using medical professionals to solve these problems as opposed to possibly wasting a lot of money searching for a solution.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and since the surgery i have developed lymphedema. Lymphedema is swelling caused by the lymphatic system being compromised. I love to run but have found that hard to do with this condition because the breast will swell do to water retention. If anyone can recommend one of your compression products that might be of some help for me. Thank you, Lea
