Just thought I would post my congrats to all the people who finished the Spint Tri in Wilmington, NC this weekend. The weather was miserable with terrential downpours, the 30+mph winds did not help much either. Trying to keep the bike on two wheels and avoid the calf high water puddles on the run made me think I never left the swim leg. Anyone who has some interesting or maybe horror story they want to share - please post. More sun needed in NC -

Hi,
This was my first triathlon and what an experience it was. We had wind, rain, hail and a flooded transition area. I still had fun! I hope that you did too. It can only get better from now on. How did you do?

I did that race back in 2001 and got 2nd in the Clydesdales. I remember doing the pool swim and passing folks in the lanes. The run route had a lot of turns too. Great 1st timer race and spring pipe opener/fitness test.

Always fun, technical bike course and run course - so that made for some tricky stuff in the weather we had. However I thought Triathlons were Swim, Bike, Run - not Swim, Swim, Swim.

Hopefully we will have a little better weather in Clayton on April 16th.
