So I had an MRI yesterday because with the thought going in of a possible rupture in the bottom half inch of my achilles tendon. After pestering the nurses and doctors all day I was told it was some mild inflammation (which as of two weeks ago was some crazy huge inflammation) and I can at least start biking again when I feel like it. I can start running after another week off!!! Im soo geeked right now...

Good news. Take it easy for a while, as I am sure you were told, even if it feels great.

Outstanding!...come back slow. Take time to rise to your previous levels and THEN you'll be REALLY happy!

Glad there is no rupture. I have a question though. Do you trust the doctor you've been working with? He should not need and MRI to diagnose an achilles rupture. That would be pretty obvious with a physical exam.

He came recommended by a couple of people I know in the area. When I went in for my consult. he said he thought everything looked good when he was messing around with my ankle and foot. We used to the MRI to rule out anything related to a tear, rupture, blah blah blah. Ill have to go see a podiatrist now to finish this all up and work back into getting to where I was.

Great news! Now take it easy on the comeback, ok?

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
