My body is a wreck

Started my serious training this year as I have only done a couple of sprints. This summer I'm training for a couple of half marathons, OLY tri, HIM and one duathalon. Of course the HIM is by far the most important. I'm finding chafing ALL over...my breast bone, my waist, my chest. It doesn't hurt but I'm finding I'm needing more body glide than ever! Now my big toenail bed is hurting and starting to turn white underneath. Am I potentially going to lose it? Any suggestions to prevent that? Only hurts when you touch it (or when the dog stepped on it...OUCH!!).
Is this a sign that I am finally an athlete?

Chaffing with the liberal use of body glide? Are you working out in clean clothes everytime you work out?
Previously worn clothes are just rife with bacteria...especially in areas tight fit tight to the skin: crotch, waist band, nipple area. Clean clothes help prevent chaffing and rashes and saddle sores. Are your jerseys of good quality? Poorer materials can be harsher on the skin. For me tighter jerseys are better. They don't move around as much...the less movement, the less chaffing.
As to the toenail...congratulations! To me it sounds like a blister under the toenail. You may lose it. You may not...those things are hard to call.
