I had to go ahead and one up Lance on my lunch time ride today...A bit of wood got caught in my spokes, tearing out 7 of them and sending me over the handlebars at 23mph. Luckily I was riding with my team and they made sure I got home ok. I cracked my helmet, broke my glasses, and left a good part of my jersey on the road.

For the record, I manned up and did 40 miles after work. You don't need a pretty face to push pedals :)

Officially that is an awesome photo. Before going out though you need a better cover story for the ladies than I crashed my bike riding at lunch.

Wow. You could tell where the helmet was. You're lucky to have your nose, orbital bone, and teeth intact. I hope for your sake that doesn't scar and/or discolor. Because it is on your face I would get that medically treated. Considering where it is and what caused it (a filthy road), I don't think getting a dermatologist's or plastic surgeon's opinion on treatment would be out of the question.

Looks like you'll be out of the pool for a little bit. Heal fast.

Update: I went to see one of my professors that is an MD. He told me to keep it clean and stay out of the pool for a week or two. He advised that I only run for the time being because another bike crash could break my wrist, so I'll be back on the trainer :( Going in for an x-ray friday..

Come on man, we all know you didnt crash your bike. You burned the chicken again didnt you?

My boss refused to believe that my 5 stitches in my chin came from running, stating that it mustve come from my angry girlfriend. Im calling the same on you!

Hope it heals up quick man, looks like a bitch to sleep on.

Ouch! Good to hear your positive attitude too. Invest in some Mederma ointment (I'm sure the dermatologist will tell you too) once you get past the scab over part. It'll do wonders to minimize the scars.

Just keep spinning....spinning, spinning....uh, do I know you?
