Aerobar computer mount options

I have a set of Profile Design T2 clip-ons that take up quite a bit of real estate on my bars. I don't really have enough room on there to properly mount a bike computer and, since putting them on, have had my polar mounted on the stem. This makes it accessible, but not easy to read in a glance.

I'm currently fudging together a mount bar from a dried up sharpie that I'll mount an older speed-only Cateye computer to, but I'm still trying to get the attachment worked out.

Anyone else take a DIY approach instead of spending the $10+shipping?

+1 on XC. What I did was take a piece of PVC..sanded/drilled out rounded notches to fit snuggly. Drilled two holes , painted, and used zip ties. Holds the computer and the light.

Copper plumbing pipe and zip ties. Get a short piece of pipe from wherever you can find it, cut it to fit between the extensions out towards the end, and zip tie it in place. Should cost you about $0.28 (engineering estimate, may be off by as much as 100%).

Personally, I'm working on a combined mount/water bottle holder for mounting up front. Haven't come up with the specifics yet (and my bike is still strewen about the spare bedroom/den/workshop at the moment) but I'll be sure to post a pic in a couple months when I have everything ironed out.

Zip ties... Nice. I was thinking about using epoxy, but was concerned about repositioning later. I just happen to have a whole slew of them.

+1. I used a piece of 3/4" pvc pipe and a zip tie. You can cut the pvc easily to width and/or use a hole saw or spur bit to make a semi-round cut in the ends of the pvc to mate with the aero bar profile. I used a piece of scrap from a home project and one tie from the CostCo tie kit so mine cost considerably less than $0.28...

*sigh* I ended up springing for the PD universal one. I had it all painted and it matched the bars perfectly, then went to drill it and cracked the whole thing. Wish I had a drill press and clamps instead of trying to do it with a cordless drill while holding it on the floor with my hand...
