Ford Ironman St. George (Utah), May 1, 2010? Awesome! So presumably registration will open this May 1 or 2? North America needs one earlier than CdA. It's 80 degrees here (Dallas) already and I'd love to be biking now, not in the Summer. Also, St. George is the site of a very popular marathon to qualify for Boston. I hope they use the same course.

Sign. Me. Up.

A point-to-point Ironman with no public parking at the Swim and T-1 location. That was challenging enough for a half ironman last year. Ought to be an extra interesting twist both for athletes and spectators.

The scenery certainly looks better than many of the other IM locations. So tempting...

And I see they call it wine country... that will certainly help make a case with my wife.

Yes! The bike leg goes through vineyards and peach groves, then up over the pass. Its high desert so usually dry and warm that time of year. The first time I did it I was a huge lookey loo(which I guess could be bad). Its a single loop so none of that 2 or 3 loop stuff. Same with the swim. Run is an out and back.

This year we are taking a couple extra days after to head back over to Banff (about 6 hrs drive). And now that the exchange rate is better it's cheaper than in 07 (still not as good as the first time in 05 but hey what can you do).
