Garmin Frnr 405 Battery Maximization

Does anyone know if you need to drain the Forerunner 405 battery after the first charge, like some electronic devices, in order ot maximize the battery life over time?

This holds true for all lithium batteries so it would apply to 405 as well.

If its a lithium ion

If its a lithium ion battery, it will NOT develop a memory just like the ones in cell phones now. The nicad or nicklemetal hydrade batteries will and should be drained. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery

I would check the battery to verify the actual type. It's PROBAB:Y lithium ion and should be safe to keep on the charger as much as you want
