vote needed for new bike paint scheme....
"I'm wanting to do something different."
leave it as is. That clearcoated bare carbon fiber is a beautiful look.
You'll get the "What the heck was that?" reaction by leaving it as it is.
painting it a solid color will make it more generic and people won't even suspect you're sporting fully CF like that.
What a cool predicament...
My vote would be for 'c'. Add a little dark blue and raw carbon accents (as blue suggested) and its game over!! What kind of frame is that?
Jeff
Hey is that one of those full carbon bikes off of ebay? If so, more details, please, on what your impressions are.
I'd say incorporate the carbon into whatever scheme you do. I'd leave the rims unpainted, as that could add quite a few grams of rotating weight.....(maybe just go with spiral decals or something).
Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.
Option A- But leave the black carbon exposed and just do the gold accents. That would be wicked!
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
its up to you---im not really sure what your favorite color schemes are so i couldnt say for you
but in my opinion...orange and silver (option D)
i'm sure alot of people will have different answers though cause not everybody likes the same colors

+1 Carbon weave looks sweet. Otherwise you'll have painted plastic with stickers. As is looks like an Orbea Ordu.
leave it bare...it looks waay more custom that way!
no logos anywhere!
if you paint it, you have to do something original for it to be unique...original graphics or artwork; or a color that no one else has...like a three coat metallic
and highlight the steerer tube instead of cutting it down ;)
after doing a quick search on Ebay I see a lot of these full carbon frames out there for cheap - much cheaper than my aluminum Leader frame from ebay even... I thought I had a good deal at $425 for my frame but these carbon numbers cost $300 for frame and fork.
The width of the carbon fiber weave seems pretty wide compared to what I am used to seeing... are these good quality frames? They seem to emulate shapes I've seen before - Orbeas definitely - but I wonder if they perform well...
I don't know who's brand those are on ebay but I know the taiwan manufacturer. If you want the low down on the ebay frames go to a previous thread here and read my comment:

As for the appearance, manufacturers put a cosmetic wrap over the main carbon body, so don't trust what you see on the outside as actual internal cloth. Mark my words, the next big thing will be "colored carbon" which isn't even carbon. It is actually a colored fiberglass wrap weaved like carbon to give a carbon look but in a variety of colors.
Black carbon with orange accents. That bike looks like a B2 bomber, stealth would be what I would call it.
i vote for leave as is...that black on black scheme makes it look like a ninja bike...haha
It will def turn heads like it is...i'd look at it at a race and be envious...

That's hot :)

+2. My other vote would be for the plain black. The simpler and less flash the cooler the look.

Definitely keep some carbon accents, otherwise I'll say a. or b.; just gold or silver but sub out the blue for carbon black.
I vote for naked. Leave it be.
paint adds weight ;-)
heck, Mercedes Benz had to sand down their early race car that was painted up a pretty white color in order to shave off 1 pound so they could qualify to race. The car looked awesome in bare metal.
Leave it as is and call it "The Dark Knight"
I love Carbon Fiber, but I think I may be the only one who thinks that the all carbon look is becoming a bit overdone. Make it a sleeper ;-)

If left naked, you could tell people were sponsored, but due to doping allegations in Europe, you got dropped by your previous sponsor. You didn't like them anyways because they didn't back you up in interviews with Le Monde. But they let you keep the bike but you had to take off all of the sponsor stickers. Now you are slumming it, training State-side while your "directeur sportif" gets the boys ready in Spain. You're working on getting a new sponsor. Gerolsteiner might be interested.
I like that sooner. I was also thinking of putting a couple of "Acme" or "Generic" stickers on my downtube along with some "Sample A" stickers where most model name stickers go.
OR
just putting a bunch of bumper stickers to cover everything!!! give it a real hippie look!! lol!

It all sounds cool... just don't do the Garmin Argyle thing. Bike racing and Argyle patterns just don't mix for me. And remember, pink is the new black.
What doesn't kill you defines you.

That reminds me of the guys who tune their '98 Acura Integras or put spoilers on '87 Civics and promo their intake system or brake pads: I saw one once with a sticker that read, "Stickers make it go faster."

Now THAT is a screenname of someone with a risque sense of humor. I know it's personal preference, but I love the argyle. Not to thread jack, but TwinSix and RockRacing have good looks. Anything is better than freakin' Primal Scream's Cookie Monster (sorry).
Leave as is or Midnight blue/Silver

Ok, so I'm getting ready to paint my new bike (luckily I have access to an automotive paint shop) but want some input from my fellow trifuelers, so I'm taking a poll. I have some paint schemes below and want to see which one you think is best.
The frame, fork, seat post, aerobars and even the wheel rims will be painted (except for the extreme outside of rim where brake pads touch).
A. Black w/ gold (black rims)
B. Midnight Blue w/ silver (silver rims)
C. Air Force Gray w/ Dark grey (like their plane's paint scheme) (air force gray rims)
D. Orange w/ silver (silver rims)
As you can tell, I'm wanting to do something different. So that way when I go flying by people, errrr, getting flown by, everyone can say, "what the heck was that?" At least I won't have the "Spencer Smith pink"!!!
There is a pic of the raw bike below.
