I would also suggest you check out tips from IM veteran Gordo Byrn's web site. His information is a bit tailored to folks who do long distance training/racing but some very good information on nutrition and race-day prep none the less.

Hello all
I wonder if there's anybody out there that can give me some advice.
I'm a dedicated athlete (sports al least 5 times a week), want to get into tri, so long swim and bike training hours aside from the long hours from work.
I get to choose how/when I eat, which brings me to this :
I eat a lot of bread/sandwiches, and very little warm meals. Is this bad for my general health and buildup in training? As I'm no food expert I don't know how I can compensate this! Are there any specific things I need to take care of? I'm in the clear right now, but when I pick up the pace in my training schedule, I feel worn down (lack of nutrients?) ...
Thanks for all the suggestions
Happy Easter everybody ...
