Dude, where's my bike?
I had a similar situation but had left it late before my first half ironman so after waiting 4 weeks and being told it would take another couple of weeks I decided to get a Giant that they had in store which was exactly the right size. Incidently the bike I was waiting for was also a Cervelo.
Am very happy with the Giant but still look longingly at the Cervelo's I see at races.
i had great service when i purchased my ttx from trek (took about a week-had a big chip in it-sent it back-got another one within a week)...of course, it was the top of the line model, so maybe they took extra measures to getting it to me quicker.

I got my cervelo in a ltttle over a week but then it was the wrong color and they gave me shimano cycling shoe's practically for free! I suggest complaining!:)

I got my P2 in just over a week as well. The shop I worked with called Cervelo to get it ordered while I was in the store. I think they were making sure there were some available (on Cervelo's end), and there were...so all they had to do was ship. I think it's a roll of the dice...and from what I hear, their production is a little slow right now. I'd still follow up on this...make sure you're not forgotten about.
I read an article on my LBS's website that pretty much says don't bug us about it, we can't make the manufacturer ship it quicker. I trust my LBS but just can't help but wonder what the hold up is. Super excited to be getting this, but from all indications this wait is the exception rather than the rule.
For those of you getting it in just around a week... what time of year did you order? I'm wondering if that makes much of a difference.

I ordered mine about a month ago (Jan 20ish).
On a side note, the salespeople at my LBS were predicting by their rate of sales that the 09 P2s would be unavailable for the rest of the year by mid-spring...but they are apparently one of the nation's largest cervelo dealers, so they might have a skewed perception.
i employee purchased mine and before actually ordering them i spoke with our Trek store representative to make sure that they had a bunch of them in stock (a bunch as in 9 in the whole country-but its not common that many people buy the ttx 9.9 ssl) before i officially ordered it. Maybe you are/were one of the last people on the waiting list because people generally backorder their bikes relatively close to the new year to start training on them early. Good Luck

I just ordered a Giant TT bike this Monday and it will be here tomorrow. I have only ordered Giants in the last 5 years so I don't have other experience with other dealers. It seems to me most Cervelo's are readily available. I like Lala's advice, see if you can complain to someone maybe you can get a discount on something... anything.

Never forget that you are their customer. I can't believe how bad acceptable customer service has gotten. Don't every hesitate to call the place you purchased your bike from, you have all the power in that you can take your business elsewhere in the future. They might not be able to speed up the shipment of the bike, but they can at least check on where it is. Sorry just my 2 cents.
Much appreciated Iron Dan. I popped in today to check and I'm considering dialing up Cervelo. I guess Cervelo got pretty back logged on bike orders and they are starting to really get more bikes shipped now. So I seem to be in the 'it should be here any day' camp.
well, its been another two weeks and still no P1. Since I've ordered this friggin thing I've lost a job, found a job, and will now be moving. I just pray I get the bike before the move. getting very close to the 3 month mark (Jan. 3 order date). My last update was two weeks ago with a '6-8 days, maybe sooner', but nope, neither are true. I see Nytro claims a 1-2 week estimated shipping schedule....
This seems pretty ridiculous...especially since Cervelo has started shipping P4's from what I've heard...and those were pretty log-jammed for a time. You need to raise hell and get your bike.

What's the longest you had to wait to receive a bike you ordered? I ordered my first tri bike (and first ever that I have to wait for) on Jan 3 and still don't have it. More than 6 weeks! It's nothing super exotic - a 54cm Cervelo P1. Am I nuts or is this a really freakin long time to wait?
The shop said it could take 4-6 weeks, but noted it usually took less than that. SOOO, Let's hear it.... how long have tri-fuelers waited to get their hoopty?
