Donate old running shoes?
Soles for Souls I've seen around quite a bit. They have a bin at our local run shop. http://www.soles4souls.org/
I have brought them to events that had shoe drop offs but I have sent them in to be donated as well.
There was an article in Runners World about shoe donations including the one Tribro listed above.
Here is the article and listing for several donor sites to choose from.

'Nothing to it, but to do it!'
Some great info here! Another one I often do is donate them to a local kid's tri group. It is a group of inner city kids, and where runners and triathletes stop using shoes there are still plenty of miles where they are better than the converse the kids sometimes run in.

Ask you and shall receive. Wow-thanks guys!

Hello all,
Through this forum I was just forced to realize that my beloved running shoes are past their prime. I love these shoes. I have taken such good care of them and they still look and feel amazing (expect the white isn't so white anymore and I've been getting blisters out of no where). :)
So as I'm realizing that these guys will now become the shoes I just throw on when I need to run an errand I've also started to think about how many pairs of old shoes like these that I'll quickly compile in a few years.
Knowing that these shoes are not functioning as I need them to anymore is it inappropriate to want someone else to get more use out of them? If they don't work for me then why should I want to give them to someone else? But someone else may not have a shoe at all....
So as I struggle with this---does anyone donate their old running shoes to an organization that they would recommend? And what are your thoughts on this?
