I'm in week 3 of my 16 week HIM plan and I'm freezing, all the time. It's not even cold out, compared to what it was a month ago. I feel better after a long scalding shower, but now I'm walking around in the house in multiple layers. What causes that?

Sorry if it's not that exotic/erotic/exciting as Matt in a Speedo. Or PoC in a dress....

Are you getting sick?

Maybe you are training so hard you body fat is low and you are not as insulated as you were in the past?

that's happened to me on occassion. I attributed it more to my cycle than my training, and of course, my mom attributed it to my weight loss- typical, but I never had a definite answer. The cold feeling comes and goes for me. It's really concerning when I feel that way in the middle of the Houston summer. I just drink lots of hot tea and wait for it to pass. Good luck.

I'm getting over a cold, and got back in the pool today. Unfortunately I'm still pretty insulated (20%). Today wasn't as bad, but I'm wearing a wool hat - inside.

Well I am ALWAYS cold. I keep the heat in the house set at 72 all day and keep my fluffy ugg slippers on. I also live for a hot shower and will typically stay in it until the water runs cold ....I know bad me. I do keep bundled up even with the heat cranked, and I don't have a cold :(

Hope you feel better soon!!

Happens to guys too! I'm walking around in layers while my wife, experiencing her own "personal summer" is not...
As suggested the extra warmth/calories of hot drinks sure help!

I am also always cold, but I am very thin so everyone tells me it an insulation thing. Oddly, when I go running outside on very cold days, I feel warmer than normal for the rest of the day and the cold bothers me less. I added silk long underwear to my wardrobe a few years ago to wear under jeans or whatever and it made a huge difference. It's nice to know I am not shivering alone!

i find i get cold if i'm sitting inert (at the computer or something like that)
but if i'm doing chores or moving regularly, no problems

also,
if you have a uninsulated slab-on-grade house (like my in-laws in southern CA), the floor is often colder than the air your house heating system is putting out...and you can lose a good deal of heat through your feet

i have a pair of these, which i think are awesome for insulating my feet from the floor

I am down to the 190's and am cold all the time now. Almost impossible to really get warm. Last year I was at 225 or so this time of year, and was warm all the time. Price that I am paying for getting in shape. Another 25 lbs and I will be freezing in 80 degree weather I fear.

I am warm blooded when it is 70 and above. I prefer the 60's. However, I cannot stand the cold (30's and below) at all like I used to. It seems to go right through me.

That's pretty low for a woman. You freeze after you finish? When this happens (often) after a run, my totally unscientific theory is that my body has been trying to disperse heat as fast as it can during the run, and then I finish my training - but my body is still trying to shed heat quickly - I now freeze because I'm not exerting any energy to compensate for the heat loss. Kinda like 'heat dispersion overkill'. (Probably makes no sense now that I read it.)

Unscientific theories are the best kind. How do we test it?

Yup, always cold. My partner has found since getting fitter as well that she now is cold much more often and she no longer makes fun of me for it! I think the heat disperse overkill sooner theory is what I am suffering from. Unless I bake myself in a hot bath right after a workout, I am frozen all day. Layers and warm beverages!
