There was a post last week concerning aero aluminum wheels on which I voiced an opinion regarding Bontrager's customer service (or lack thereof). I contacted them yesterday via their web inquiry and told them the situation regarding replacement of a rear wheel, the hub of which I had managed to pull a pair of spokes through. Was just contacted by their sales rep and was told he'd have a warranty replacement for me at the Trek store in Chicago ready for pick up tomorrow. He basically confirmed to me that the shop had given me the runaround for a few months, as wheels never get sent back to Trek for repair.

So yeah, feeling pretty good. I hope it's a new one with the white spokes. Sexxxxy wheels, them are. Though now that I'll have a fresh tubie this weekend, and temperatures are going to be above freezing for the first time in about 8 years (it feels), I'm not quite as excited about my ski trip to Breck/Vail. Anyone know of some good places to run in Breck? I'll only need a 3 mile route, as I'm sure the lack of O2 at 10,000' is going to destroy me quickly.

I visited a freind in Denver a couple years back and went for a 'quick' run (quick describes the time I was able to run not the pace at which I did the run) Have fun skiing!

at least you have a new wheel now! unfortunately im not too familiar with that area, but im sure you could ask concierge or some local if theres any places to run. I remember when i went to some really elevated town in switzerland i could barely even breathe normally! 3 miles is gonna be a challenge at 10k elevation

have fun

Concierge will have some suggestions and basically any other cashier, waitress, bartender you run into. The great thing about Colorado is that everyone is active (okay, almost everyone). If they aren't runners they'll at least know where runners like to run. Have fun up there. My wife and I are driving up to Breck for the weekend. Highs are suppose to be around 34 with snow. Good luck with the altitude.

there's a path from breck to frisco - and around lake dillon. not sure about winter conditions though. i'd recommend renting snowshoes and getting a work out that way. something about the trails in the winter that are so peaceful.

running on the roads up there can be dicey b/c they still have copious amounts of snow. and now i'm sad because mr. diva_mom is in vail and i'm not.

Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left

plenty of places to run... the easiest way is just to follow bike path (can't miss it) since i doubt you will find a whole lot of bikers at this time of a year... on the other side we had about 71 in denver today...
also, run around dillon lake is really nice, too.
