sorry this is kind of a complicated question, more for the hardcore wrenches in the crowd...
I have a 1999 (I think) Fuji Aloha. For some reason the cable hubs where the housings come in from the derailleurs are welded to the steerer tube, not the down tube where they usually would be. This means that the part of the brake where the brake housing comes in is only about 15mm away from cable hub. If I were to route my rear derailleur directly to my bar-end shifter, then it would impede my ability to turn left. I used to have the rear derailleur housing internally routed and zip tied to my steerer tube to keep it out of the way. Is this the best way to do it? Did I do a good enough job explaining the issue?
