Texas Hold em' (I know I'm not the only one)
I have seen people's lives ruined by gambling. You are waaayyyy too young to mess aorund with this stuff.

You're in the wrong forum again. You seem to be having a problem with this. Are your browser links mislabeled? Or do you just find yourself so interesting that you feel the need to share your every move with anyone and everyone? lol, just curious.
Dude, Instead of spending your parents money gambling, you should sock it away for a rainy day (or college).
Jeff
Dude! At 17 I was trying to keep my grades up so I could stay the hell out of Vietnam, climbed rocks, went for long runs and chased girls! You're WASTING that time you spend playing cards!
+1 to everyone above who said you should be doing other things and posting stuff like this to other forums.
You want Cash? Do what I did at your age...get a job!
(OMG! I sound like my Father...and a fine man he was too!)

If you trained as hard as you work at your 'other' extra curriculars you could be winning overalls and ag's and getting that stuff for free that you feel you need to gamble to get. (Id say something about responsibility and all that but Anton already got the 'I sound like my father' tag)
*take it elsewhere please*
Well, nice responses guys. And being that this is a community I didn't think this was a big deal to post here, you're not fored to read it?
FYI - I didn't say anything about needing a job, or money, it's the game itself. My financial situation is anything but complicated (I guess my parents, eh?)
Anyway, whatever....

No lad, we're not forced to read it...but we do try to keep this forum from degenerating into a place where folks post about anything they want. Several times this year folks have posted stuff that had the potential to blow a hole in the TRIATHLON/ENDURANCE related site that Tribro started. Almost all that responded said...if it's not related to tri's or endurance sports take it somewhere else. Sure, folks ask for dog names or ideas on where to move but that's good stuff that won't start a frame pump fight.
As adults, some of us have seen lives ruined by gambling addictions as well as addictions of other sorts.
It may be a touchy subject for some....One persons "fun" may be another persons hell...
The next time you post, and it's not a related subject, think before you punch "post comment" or start a thread, "Does this have the potential to upset or embarrass someone, including myself?"
Hell, I've been smacked down here a few times..it's not personal.
Trifuel is a really special place as forums go...all are included and we don't flame folks. If you consider this a flame job, sorry...just trying to protect something we really love.
Since I already sound like a Parent (at which I have experience) let me leave you with this...
It's a great quote by Mark Twain...I might not have it exactly right, but...
"When I was 18, I couldn't believe how stupid my Father was. By the time I was 21, I couldn't believe how much he'd learned." It certainly was true for me!
We love having you here...

i'm 17 and i used to do that but not nearly to that amount of money (maybe i'd lose/gain 20-100 bucks a year for only like 2 years) when i was around 13 years old. Instead of spending time gambling and risking losing money i just work at a bike shop now and not only am i getting money without any risk, i'm learning alot more about building bikes, working on bikes, and just general knowledge about bikes. also, i get a fat discount on all of my tri gear (bike related of course). In fact, i recently spent about $4000 less than retail value for the ttx because i work at a bike shop that is a top trek seller...Go get a job!!!

I actually have a job, and I don't want to say to much because Tribro might get mad at me for advertising, but I am starting a Triathlon Appearl Company. It's still in the works but should be promising.
Anton - (This is not sarcastic, truly) - That response was the most genuine thing I have ever read on the internet, and I really appreciate it. You're right btw

better hope the law man doesn't find out about this underage gambling ring ! Hard to do a tri from in a jail cell. Think it can't happen ask the numerous people that got busted here in charleston for doing the exact same thing.
Trevor Douglas YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
Tribro gets mad when people continually promote themselves, or something new every other week. Most users are banned on first or second violation. Tribro is only trying to keep everyone on the same page as far as the rules of the forum goes. There is a reason this forum isn't like others, strict rules but it keeps things on topic and open to all experience and interest levels.
As a reminder... FAQ Rules, Rule #3.
Notice #3 doesn't say anything re: hot guy threads. I guess Trigator's speedo post was within the law.
We do also have a 'Question for the Trifuel Women' Thread ;-)
It is fun to blow off steam with a few off topic threads but this site is really more focused on triathlon and related endurance sports and general training.
Thanks Tribro ;-)

you wouldn't like it when Tribro gets mad...
(I see Tribro has taken to referring to himself in the 3rd person... :) )

So I guess that should be "King Tribro" now? ;)

Ok guys!
I don't know how many of you are addicted to poker as much as myself, but I figured i'd make a post.
I'm only 17 currently but we play house games 2-3 times a week , usually on weekends. I have already started my fund for larger tourny's such as the WSOP. This year (since the first) I'm up $1,286 (all of which has gone towards Tri stuff haha! And yes that total is just from highschool kids in our underground league
Anyone else here play?
(I'm not an addict, and I actually study the "sport" , so please don't flame, I know my limits)
