so, the past 2-3 weeks, i've set at least one PR in my runs every time, and every time i set one, i feel exhausted cuz i run as fast as i can...or at least I think am. anyway, it started a couple weeks ago when i was doing mile repeats and got a 7:50, and a 7:53, my first ever sup 8 mile, and I got 2 ON THE SAME DAY..WITHIN MINUTES OF EACH OTHER. the 2nd time was last week, which was the next time i was on the track for repeats.....got a 7:44-7:45. then tonight....i got a 7:33............and i wasn't nearly as tired after, and didn't go for any more because my gf was sick from eating a lil too soon before the run, and she was ready to go. anyway. is that a norm to be beating old pr's by 5-10 seconds ?

Very cool! Those are big jumps in a short time.

I'll be the first curmudgeon. In answer to your questions if that's normal. No. I do not believe it is normal. When you first start training, you will see great performance gains. Once you have been training consistantly, you will definitely stop seeing those PR's every week. You may still see new PR's several times a year for a couple years, but you will definitely have to work harder for them.

Enjoy them while they last!! :)
