BIG Felt B12 Seatpost Clamp Problem
definitely a warranty issue...I've gone through several seat clamps on my DA, but nothing with the frame-integrated part. I would imagine Felt will take care of you...maybe even an 09 frame...Good luck.
I have a B2 and the frame integrated part also broke at about 150km in Ironman South Africa! Had to stand and pedal coz i was so worried about causing more damage. Photos are being sent to Germany and hopefully it will be replaced - not keen on paying for another bike!
I always kept thinking I needed to post a follow-up and I never did. Now I have a reason. Felt DID replace my frame with an '09 B12 frame. They didn't replace the fork which means it doesn't quite match-up, but the color schemes are nearly identical so you pretty much have to know it's not right to be able to tell. According to the LBS, Felt said that if there was a big difference, they'd have included the fork too.
It took a while to get the replacement since they had to order more from China and it was during Chinese New Year. In the end, I got the new frame and only had to pay for the LBS to tear down and build up the new frame which worked out fine since I needed to get it in for an annual overhaul/cleaning anyway.
One thing to note is that the '09 clamp appears to have some additional material in the location where mine cracked - i.e. there was a design flaw (stress riser) and they fixed it. Sorry to hear about IM S.A but it sounds like you finished - though 30k standing would NOT be my idea of fun. Best of luck with Felt. My dealings with them (limited, most communication went through the LBS) were pretty easy so I think you'll be fine.

So I finished my ride today and was wiping down my bike when I came across an issue that has me freaked out (money-wise). The portion of the seatpost clamp that is integrated to the frame (carbon) has a crack in it. It's not all the way through nor does it run the full length (vertically) of the clamp, but it's definitely there. I already had the removable collar crack on me once and luckily the shop where I bought it from just swapped it out (apparently, I wasn't the only one they'd seen).
My question is 1) does anyone know if this portion of the seatpost clamp can be removed and replaced or 2) if this sounds like something that should be covered by Felt's lifetime frame warranty? Their site says it doesn't cover fatigue, but the bike's only about 13 months old and seatpost clamps shouldn't crack.
I'm taking it into the shop tomorrow but they're closed today and, of course, am freaked that I'm gonna get told I'm SOL and I need to buy a new frame. If anyone has been in this position, please help talk me down.
