so, today i've been reading snippets from the TI book and i've been watching videos over the past couple days. tonight in the pool, I focused less on trying to power my way through, and made a conscious effort to roll on my side as I stroke, and making long full strokes. At first I was going nowhere trying to breathe every stroke, but I loosened up and tried breathing every other. I finally found my niche w/ breathing every 3-4 strokes, and being less winded than trying to breathe every stroke. I swam about 300 yards before i had to stop due to bloating and stuff(I drank too much water in between my workout and swim), however the 300 yards was easier than 100 or so in the previous days. I took about a 15-30 second pause in between each lap and/or pool length to make sure I wasn't tired(I learned a long time ago from weight lifting that exhaustion = poor form/technique, and I realized the other day that that carries over w/ swimming) to ensure every lap was as perfect and technically proper as possible. I also took this time to reflect on the lap, and compared it to the other laps(what was different about it, was it easier/harder? and why was it that way?). So far, in an effort to reduce drag and focus on my SL and SE, after about 15 minutes i've gottne farther than i've gotten in the past 4 or 5 months. woot woot! I'm going to go through the full book this weekend and start on monday dedicating an hour a day and see how it goes.

I started using TI a couple of weeks ago and it has done wonders for my swim stroke. I am actually starting to like swimming. Do not move through the drills to fast. Make sure you have perfected the first one before moving to the second one and so on. But I would recomend TI to anyone that wants to improve their swimming but can not afford a coach.

+1, do the drills a lot, don't skip ahead until you've mastered the previous one, and you'll see more improvements. Congrats on the progress.
