Great job again Anton and your wife as well.

I am still processing the Ipod......I didn't see it coming. I bet no one did.

Sweet!! Sounds like a fun time again.
I do miss the Disney races but I have some other goals. I'll be back one of these days.
I guess the iPod also took place of my yapping on the lonely back stretches. ;-)

Great Job!!

Scott yapping? ipod?...Scott yapping? ipod?
I don't see much of a choice! YOU figure out which way I mean it! ;)

trimom...do it without...This was an experiment for me. When you get more experience then decide. it CAN be a problem for some folks and you really have to be cool with what's happening around you. This time..soak it all in. Again though..the choice is yours. And best of luck by the way...looking forward to reading your race report!

Ipod on, I'm stoked with ELP, Kings of Leon, Pretenders, Cream, The Call, Incubus and all sorts of other hair raising stuff

Oh, you crazy kids and your music! I'm anti-iPod, not that you asked or care, but if I were doing the double I'd probaby wear it too. So that's cool.

So does that mean me yapping for hours on end is also equivilent to a 15% performance increase? ;-D

Also since Disney is a closed course I suppose an iPod would not have the same risks as an open course.

okay- I'll try it w/o; scary concept, but it's sort of a training run for the eventual IM so...there you have it- thanks for the input- Congrats on the double race! that's awesome!

absolutely agree...I am anti ipod for training and racing...I wouldn't wear it in EVERY long race and not in an IM or any event involving a bike...but now I can speak with from a position of experience instead of just having a knee jerk reaction...

syllogistic or not, I'd take it...when have I ever been responsible for an improvement in performance? :)

Music(on iPod) = a 15% improvement in performance
Music(on iPod) = Scott(aka beads)Yapping
Scott(aka beads)yapping = a 15% improvement in performance

1. *I* would have been one of the Floridians in long pants :)
2. You don't use and iPod in ultra's? (I'm surprised Goofy actually allowed them).
3. CONGRATS to you and ML for rocking Mickey's World again!

1...oh I'm sure! ;)
2. Never used an ipod in an ultra. Usually not allowed and you can't hide in a group of 50 people.
No Disney doesn't allow them (I'm such a scofflaw!) but it's ignored.
3.Thanks so much! ML was especially happy!
USATF recently amended it's head phone use rule. They will now allow them, but not other devices like phones, cameras, video...

Yesterday morning I was running at the Y on the treadmill. 4 degrees is too cold for me to run outside. I use my 1996 Discman and tune it to the FM signal to hear the news. I was on mile 4 when my left hand smacked the headphone wire, pulling the Discman off the shelf and onto the treadmill. I was going at about 6:45 pace. The Discman flew pretty far behind me at a quiet moment in the gym. One of my proudest moments ensued, as 12 people looked at me with amusement. To save what little dignity I had left, I glanced behind me, confirming no one had been injured, then continued to run until I finished the mile. I did remove the now useless headphones. Maybe this is a sign to enter the 21st Century:-).

Do you have an 8 track player in your car? Time for an Ipod for you!

Anton, great race report. ML's story is just as inspiring to me. I am so proud of her! Can't wait to do that race myself one day. Maybe I'll be able to talk my non-running husband into doing it with me.
