Can anyone who has the Spinnervals 2.0 Time Trial tell me what the format is like? I have two other Spinnervals: Uphill Grind (which I do not care for) and Muscle Breakdown (which I love). It sounds petty but I just don't like the music/atmosphere/ect in Uphill Grind. Both are good workouts though.

Also, has anyone used Spinnervals 27.0 Threshold Test and Suffer Fest. Is it primarily a field test or is it usefull as a tempo type workout? I'm looking to increase my threashold and muscle endurance on the bike for short course triathons.

2.0 is pretty good, but its the older format of the series. It's only a few riders, and the music is only OK. The atmosphere of 2.0 is work you till you drop, I will admit. It's good.

2.0 has a warm up, one-leg drills, then an interval ladder done at threshold, then a little more of the one-leg drills and a shorter ladder, then some short intensity stuff (like high cadence) before a cool-down. One hour total. It's older but it's still a quality workout. I have this one, an aero base-builder that is about 85 minutes long, and the 3 hour Spinervals called Tough Love. All are solid. If you finish Tough Love then you need to move to a warmer climate or give up cycling and switch to curling or something.

Toothless,
What is the format of the Aero base builder? I've been using the CTS time trial and CTS power videos and would like to pick up one more. Someone should arrange a training video exchange (who has a dvd burner?) because these videos are too expensive.

Sorry for the hijack cambaker

Do you like the CTS time trial?

I like it. It feels like I'm working hard and the premise seems to make sense. It has a 10min warm up with 2x1min all out sprints then 3x5min power intervals (faster than you time trial) each followed by a 5min rest then 12 minutes of steady state then a 10min cool down. If you want to try it PM me your address and I'll mail you a copy.

I have the same ones as toothless, and I've added one of the CTS videos. I like the music and overall feel of the CTS, but they don't specify the target gears for you, and leave it up to you to decide what your light/mid/high intensities are. I kind of like Spinervals a bit better partially because of the exact specifications. It makes me feel like I have something very specific to build into.

Tough Love really does rock. You can really go a long way just on that video alone...
