Just got back from a 70 minutes run. Beautiful day to be on the trails. Took my running partner (the dog). He, as usual, goes all out crazy run circles around me the first hour, but lags on my heels the last 10 minutes. He does cover about 10x the ground I do. Wish I had his stamina.
For the first time in several very long months today I ran :) yipee!! Decided to be sensible and took it very easy for just 15 minutes, have a long process to get back to my 90 minute jobs but at least i am on the way. It felt so nice to run again, especially as we had some nice morning sun - even if it was a bit on the chilly side, knee felt good too and had no reaction after so that was even better. A pretty positive, if very very short workout :) .
Had a great 50 mile bike ride today with a bunch of tri buddies. You could not ask for better weather. Sunny and 72 degrees with a slight breeze. I wish all days were like this.
2.5 hour ride. Great weather here in Columbia SC, Windy but around 74.
DSMITH ... Being in atlanta do you ride in Dahlonaga at all ? I did the 6 GAP century there a couple months ago. it was INTENSE. I think all the climbs are on the Tour D Georgia.
Ramping up the mileage for Boston...21 mile long run on Saturday and 12 miles today...Finished both runs strong...Bodes well for my marathon training...
today was my rest day and boy did i rest. i relaxed in the sun most of the day out by the pool. i'm so used to being active that come days end i get a little figity but my body needed the rest b/c last weeks training was grueling. :)
10KM cross -country - wore the bear bells :)
All sunshine, stripped to the waist.
Life is good.

I have ridden Dahlonaga a few times, there is also a great ride from Lake Lanier to Brasstown Bald. Lots of hills and exactly as you say, VERY INTENSE. This time of year it is a little dangerous to ride there because all of the car clubs (Porsche, Corvette, Etc.) from Atlanta are up in the foothills speeding through the turns.
