Is there any credibility in Daniels, Run Calculator? Some of the paces seems a little slow based on how i feel. I was going to splurge and buy his Book is it worth it and can it slot in easily with the rest of tri training

I've heard a lot of good things about Daniels. My "coach" (not really a coach that I'm paying, just a guy that is fast and knowledgeable) uses JD's info. The info was good enough to get my coach to I think a 2:42 at NY in Nov. I have faith that I'll be sub 3:10 in March to qualify for Boston with the plan.

For what it's worth, I plugged in a few of my recent run-only results and the 'predictions' were within probably 1% of my actual finish times at various distances.

Totally accurate. Pretty much spot on, as TriSooner points out. The book is worth it. A difficult read, you wont fly through it. But The Formula works. I wouldnt say it easily slides into tri training, as it is a RUNNING book, but you could definately adapt and apply.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

My brother (1:51 half mile, 4:26 mile, 16 min. 5K) has used his book for coaching his old HS cross and track teams and has used it with me when I need advice on how to better myself and I think it has worked great. Very accurate just as TriSooner and Triguy98 point out.
