So, after riding the Fuji Aloga CF1, it's had it's dues, and with a cracked frame no longer ridable. I got it from a friend, and returned it so he could atleast get the components off it.

I'm looking at getting a tri bike here in the next few months, closer torwards Season Start in April. (2nd race is St.A's)

I really like the Felt Line, they seem to have fair pricing.

Any idea's from those of you riding setups Durace+?

Im riding a Felt S22 and I am very pleased with it. It is very stiff and responsive with a great build group. DA shifters and rear derailleur, 105 front derailleur but who cares!! Ive got about 3000 miles on mine and have had no issues to complain of. Ive ridden and wrenched on the B12 but it has a terrible shimmy at high speeds (going down hill) and the steer tube doesnt seem to fit correctly. You can get an S22 for under 2 grand and if youve got some negotiating skills youll be able to get some free stuff out of it =) Good luck!

-side note- If you want carbon go with a P2C, its the same price as the B12 and Im convinced its a way better bike. Compared to the S22 the B12 is not even a quarter pound lighter and costs another 600 bucks, save the money and buy toys for the bike

For what it's worth, what's stopping you from buying the bike now, or at least beginning to make payments towards one? Many LBS's will finance purchases, and buying a bike is like buying a car. Last season's models are always cheaper, so you might find a better deal now rather than waiting for April.

My cousin's in a similar situation, looking to buy a bike after he graduates from the Naval Academy in May. We're probably going to give him the down payment and work with our local bike store to get the financing for him to buy the bike sooner since he'll pay full retail at that time of year.

Thinking about the economy, most of the bike prices for new bikes are set at least 6-9 months before they become available for sale, based upon component prices at that time, including carbon, shipping assembly, demand etc.

This puts the 2009 line of bikes and componets being priced right at the same time as the highest cost of gas, shipping etc, so I beleive this years bike prices are astonomically expensive.

That being said, since the cost of everything is dropping or has dropped considerably, I believe that the 2009 cost of bikes, accessories etc will be the most expensive we will see, until the following year's product lines are releases. Possible with those prices being lower for the same items.

My 2 cents.

I agree with every one before me:
* The S22 is a great bike at a great price. Take the money saved and up the group to DuraAce.
* Start shopping now. With the new year coming in, shops are looking to move the "old" stock to make room.

I'm looking at the s22 as well. I've seen em all over the net for 1400 shipped. If you know what size you need and are comfortable buying one online, you can save some money. If not, see if your LBS will meet you halfway - they likely will.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the 2008 Fuji Aloha 1.0?

I also have the S22 and echo all of CadenceGuy's comments...this bike rocks. Looking at Felt's website though, it looks like they have a new all-carbon rig (B16) to replace the S22, which is no longer in their product line, looks to be in the same price range as the K-Factor. Sweet.

You can't go past Cervelo in my opinion. They are really producing some quality bikes. I own the 2008 P2C Ultegra and it is awesome. I put some Zipp Flashpoint 60's on it too. The bike just rides so well and is sooooooooo fast! But it is all about the fit. You gotta get fitted correctly by an experienced person...
