So while searching ebay for a decent set of carbon/al clincher rims for her carbon bianchi 928 c2c, i found two sets. the first was a set of mavic cosmic carbones, new, so i placed a bid. the second was a set of blackwells, disk/100mm front, located right below the mavics. i was very interested in these for myself, yet knew i was shopping for her. so i placed a very unreasobale bid for the set, and wouldn't you know it, i won the set i was interested in and lost the set for her.....UH-OH!!!

wonder how she'll respond.....

your the man! That is hilarious. Every time I go to the bike shop with my wife I always have a hard time not wanting to buy something for myself.

I'd work on the story some. That almost sounds like you're telling the truth.

Give the wheels to her... problem solved.

I think the 100mm front/disc rear would look more than a little strange on a C2C.

If she also has a TT or tri bike, however, the OP can kiss those wheels goodbye.

I just won a set with an unreasonably low bid too, the economy is hurting the ebay sellers and helping those of us that have been placing low bids for a year hoping to steal something!

Awe.... I thought it a P2C... my mistake.

The wheels are going on my P2C, and no, the misses does not have a TT/Tri bike, though I have pushed, she is not interested in triathlon or that type of riding. Maybe I could give her my 90/60 Hed Jet set, or sell them if her reaction is "not ideal". Maybe I should just go ahead and buy her that pink Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer she pointed out online the other day.....yeah.....that could make everything better, right?!!!

If she finds out there was an ebay "buy now" option you are in trouble. Diamond Jewelry usually works though.

I am in the clear then...i didn't use the"buy now" option, i just put in a very low bid on mine and a reasonable bid on hers. I think I will be ok.....till the wheels get here.

You are in real trouble.
PM me the details of the sale and I will take the wheels from you for half of what you paid. That is your only way out of this situation. I will be OK with my wife because I will explain I was helping someone out. She will understand so don't worry about me.

you got your order wrong. Buy the dream wheels first, then get married.

While she may be mad and tell you to sleep on the couch, at least you can sleep with the cool wheels!

WannaBSpeedy, if my husband told me that story I'd think it was really funny. You were, after all, shopping for her. Any woman who says she has never gone shopping for her guy and NOT picked up something for herself is lying! Of course, he'd still have to buy me the rims ; )
