Pedel Question

I am having a dilemma. The pedals I have on my bike right now are just some generic ones I bought on-line, I have upgraded every part of my bike and now it's time for these sucka's to go. Last year after every Tri I would curse about these things and swear that it was my last Tri with them, but as you can probably tell, I still have them. I am looking for a pedal that it REALLY easy to get into. The ones I have now roll, and I usually try to step into the back (that doesn't work so well).

Anyway, I have been looking into a pair of Speedplays, so if you have some or had some I would like to know what you thought. If you have any good advice on some I'm open to whatever.

I've ridden with Looks for years and they have always been great. They take a bit of getting used to getting into them since you will have to flip them over, but the larger surface area just feels like a much more stable platform to deliver power through.

The speedplays always struck me as having too small a profile (similiar to the feeling of Shimano SPD's), just didn't feel right on the road bike. Also like the more limited float of the Looks better.

I'm for speedplays.... I've ridden both spds and speedplays. Even though the speedplays have a small pedal, the cleats are larger, so the cleat/pedal surface area is similar to that of the looks. Very different from my old spds - with my old flimsy shoes, sometimes it felt like i was pedaling on walnuts. Also, the adjustable (you can have from no float at all to a lot) frictionless float on the speedplay zero's ended my knee pain.... Also, they are really easy to get into - you just have to step - no looking down for the right spot. Some people have looks on my cycling team and regardless of their level as riders, they always have more trouble clipping in. They are easy to get out of when you want to, but you aren't going to accidently unclip during a wild sprint...

That sounds like a better answer.

I may even have to look into the Speedplays.
