Based on my experiences, it seems that there's a good amount of overlap between the military and the multisport community. I just wanted to give a shout out and express my appreciation for those heroes who have done and are currently doing things that make even an ironman finish seem trivial.

Hope everyone who is lucky enough to have the day off is enjoying it!

I hope everybody that wants to express their appreciation to veterans went out and voted.
The United States has its flaws, but it is a great country, and people need to be involved to make it work right.

'Nuff said.

Also to my fellow jarheads a belated 'Happy Marine Corps Birthday # 233' Semper Fi!!

thanks to all the servicemen and women, past present and future that do what they do so we can do what we do.

Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left

Is it too cheeky to take this vet's day and try again to convince my brother (army vet) to get off the couch and get back into shape? He's a great guy, and props to his service, but he needs to get active again.

I talked with a a family friend, I have known for the last 12 years, on Saturday night at a party. The topic of his being in the Marine Corps came up. I asked him when he was a Marine and he told me from 1943-1946. When he spoke about Iwo Jima he never said the word "I". It was always "We". He also cried. It was an emotional moment that left me feeling incredible pride for what he had done and how he has lived his life since then. It was also very humbling.

Whatever it takes to get him moving again. Tell him you want him to do it to get healthy.
Also, tell him that some jarheads on the site are calling him an army slacker.
Nothing like a little interservice rivalry ;-)
