Livestrong Socks?

I called the LAF and their customer service said that it's a mistake and that they're not planning on selling any Livestrong socks made by Defeet. The girl knew that it was in Mountain Bike magazine too without my mentioning it first. They must be getting a lot of calls about it!

Its hard to understand. There's a photo of the socks in the magazine, and here's part of the e-mail I received from Defeet:
"We are only the manufacturer of the socks for LAF and the organization
controls them. DeFeet does not have a license for resale.
We had a link on our www site to laf.org/store, but the socks were
never offered and unavailable, so we took it down."
Whatever the story, LAF is screwing up big-time. They could be raising tons of money selling Livestrong socks.

It is weird because on the LAF website - they mention Defeet as the sponsor of their socks! Here's the address: http://www.laf.org/about/partners.cfm
If you scroll down - you'll see where they mention Defeet.

When I looked it up on their store site, and I saw only the bracelets, I thought maybe they just hadn't put it on their website yet - and so when I called to ask, I was actually ready to buy a bunch of pairs without even seeing them! I would definitely love a few pairs, and I know most of my cycling friends would too. I agree, I think they could definitely be raising lots of $$ selling the socks.

Maybe they finally added this.
I sent in an order, and it was accepted.
There appears to be three different styles available.

I just received my two pair of Livestrong Socks.
They rule!!!!
Just in time for a 30K time-trial race tomorrow against "real" cyclists.
And Its supposed to snow (?!) with 40 mph winds.
I think I'll need all the help I can get.

Just thought that I'd share this with you all, you can now purchase the socks and other LiveStrong apparel at the Yahoo store for LAF.
They have the jersey's and socks in stock, I just placed an order today (6/01/2005).

Well I guess you 've already noticed that the LAF finally got their website updated, not only with the socks, but the other apparel as well. The direct link is here: http://www.store-laf.org/
The black socks will be shipping in a week or two. They're pretty sweet, not as bright as the yellow ones.

They're shown in the April issue of Mountain Bike magazine.
Defeet, the manufacturer, says they were shipped out, apparently to LAF; and LAF gives me a non-answer.
