Beautiful day today. 70 degrees, clear and sunny. First run of the season in shorts. The chicken legs have been unleashed, watch out! :) 35 minute run. Tempo with some fartleks.
Decided to do a max heart rate test as I have been going on the 220 - age. Figured since I took off last year and the year prior I tested at 190, then 185 from the formula was probably about right.
However, two sprints today and I hit 191, 192. So, my Max is still about where it was two years ago. I've been trying to focus on the 145 MAHR I get form Mark Allen's formula which is right about the 75% of my max, so that number turned out to be pretty accurate.

This is my recovery week = less mileage and training time this week - I definitely need it! So a 1000 yard swim in the AM, a 17 mile bike ride at noon, and lifted chest after work (left work early because it's a beautiful day today! 70 degrees finally!!). Got lots of rest this weekend, so felt great for my workouts today (and nice weather definitely helps!).
Nice day here too...just got back from a 4 mile run...felt awesome. My glowing white legs got to see the sun as well!!!
beautiful here in fla. today was my recovery day since i raced yesterday so about 45 min of easy swimming and an hour easy ride.
Boston is just 6 wks from today! I did my second 20 mile run Saturday morning and then a recovery run Sunday. Today was a speedwork session this morning (6 miles including 400m repeats)...Then I had a session with my swim coach this evening...
Yesterday was awesome...
10 mile tempo run in the am (45 degrees and sunny)....50 mile bike ride in the afternoon (61 degrees and sunny) Today, 1 hour recovery ride on my trainer....30 degrees and raining after work, this time of year sucks)

recovery ride... 100 min... don't know how far. Practiced riding w/ no hands and bunny hopping and attempted track stands at stoplights and almost fell over and embarassed myself more than once... It was kind of fun to work on all that silly stuff when no other riders were around... Went really really slow and missed half of my next class accidently. Nice recovery from my first collegiate race weekend. I raced in the women's A category and got 12th in the crit + 2 pts from primes and 10th in the circuit race (after being dropped off the back for 2 miles because I came out of a corner into a huge headwind in a too big gear and working really hard w/ 2 hahvahd people to get back on)... I'll write a race report when I finish my physics p-set...
off day for me , got the JUICEMAN OUT, Carrot , Apple , Beet Juice ... and sushi for dinner.
