Weary is the path that does not challenge.
I live in Northern California and it's getting cold here. I've also been listening to a podcast about Gordo's Epic Camp. While I am unable to get away for a week+ in France, I was thinking I would head south. I know about the Solvang Camp in Southern California but again, I can't break away for a week. But I was thinking that area would be pretty good for say a 3-4 day weekend of intense training.
So if you were going to build a mini-camp in that area, would it be possible to get around (on a bike) through the towns in that area? (Los Olivos, Ballard, Santa Ynez, Buellton, Naples, Santa Barbara, etc.)
Can you ride up San Marcos Pass Rd. to Lake Cachuma and can you swim in the lake?
How about Gaviota Sate Park at the coast, can you swim there?
And running or biking in Los Padres National Forest would seem pretty cool.
Not knowing the area, I guess I'm looking for input on what you would do and where you would do it?

Sacramento area, and I agree it is getting cold. I like it though, no extreme heat related issues while working out and less people on the bike trail.
Pasadena California here - still nice and warm during the day.

yeah, it'd cool if there were a couple more ways to search that page:
for tsilcyc, search "CA"
search "homestay friendly"
for beads, search "marathon partners"
for chunkyb, search "superheroes"
search "hot triathletes"
for divamom & jntrimom, search "abs like Matt"
Newbie making her first post on the boards.....I am a recent re-locate to Los Angeles.
