Buying a TriSuit or Wetsuit

I want to compete in my first Triathlon next year and I live in Northern NJ. There are not a lot of stores, if any, in my area to buy a TriSuit or Wetsuit, and I really wanted to avoid buying anything over the internet, because I want to be able to try these on so I know it fits.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about buying a Tri or wetsuit online? I don't want it to arrive and it doesn't fit right.

Just to be sure we are on the same page, because stating you want to buy a trisuit or wetsuit suggests to me you may think they are comparable or similar: a trisuit and wetsuit are very different. Sorry if you know that already.

I imagine if you go by the sizing charts for the trisuit of choice, it should fit OK, especially if you go with a two-piece. The more difficult of the two in regards to 'fit' will be the wetsuit. You may be able to find fit charts, order one, try it out, and exchange it for a different fit. I guess the key to ordering online is to find out the return and exchange policy before ordering.

Oh yes I know there is a big difference. Since i have not competed in any Tri's yet, and the first one I will be doing is a Sprint next July, I don't think a wetsuit is necessary. I was curious how other people did it, I know I'm going to love competing and I will want a wetsuit eventually. I might just get a Tri bottom for now since its my first race.

As TriSooner said, its pretty easy to order or find in a shop a trisuit that fits, even more so if its two piece. Wetsuits however is a different subject. Ive never been a size Large anything in my life until I tried on my 2XU wetsuit, YAHOO!! IM A LARGE!!! Just make sure you understand the return/exchange policy before you order. Good luck...

Side note: if you order from TriSports.com you get a 10% discount for being a trifuel member. Its free money if your not in a position to get a discount at your LBS or Tri Shop.

Cool thats good to know. Thanks
