Lepr-schiek

So in hopes of having less embarrassing swim times next season I've been living in the pool. I'm getting faster, but at the cost of my skin. it's dry, itchy, and starting to flake off despite what I'd call excessive lotion use. is there something I'm missing or do swimmers just own the leprosy-schiek look?

Your lotion may have too much water in it. The thicker, the better. Also if you get your skin wet by showering before getting in the pool it may help. This is because your skin (and hair) will absorb the fresh water first and not so much pool water. I must warn you though...it gets worse in winter. I'm a seasoned swimmer and I'm just really itchy during the winter due to the dry air. Good luck!

I go through phases but the 'thicker' lotion does work a lot better. For me, my skin adapts to it a little bit....good luck to yah

By 'Thicker' do you mean more oil based lotion?

I bathe in baby oil once a week to replenish...seems to work in conjunction with my nightly body buttering! Shea nut butter is nice and thick.

neutrogena hand cream is super thick and the fast absorbing formula is great for all over

Another case where a loofah will solve all your problems.

Furthermore, is your pool bromine or chlorine? Some people react to one or the other.

The best lotion out there is LUBRIDERM and you can get it scent free! Also what really works
well is olive oil.
