Ironman World Championship Davis Cup Format
Interesting. I like it. Though USA B has Amey, Paul is Brit. And I'd put he and Wellington on the A team. She could be in the top 20 overall. :)
Stupidly I bowed to the all-knowing official World Champs website... Come to think the penny should have dropped when it was clear Luke Bell was resgistered as Luke McKenzie - who I have never heard of. Also Faris Al-Sultan was logged as URA - whatever that means, and Macca is apparently from USA - I know he lives in the US now but give up his Oz nationality...I think not. To be honest I assumed that the USA next to Paul Amey was ala Shane Reed being American - a tri-merc scenario. I will look at the selections later and update the GB & USA B teams as necessary. The womens selections will follow soon.
And the womens teams in seeding order:
1. USA A: Gollnick / Biscay / Ficker
2. GBR: Wellington / Cave / Comerford
3. Australia A: Major / Keat / Granger
4. Australia B: Charlotte / Bevilaqa / Preston
5. NZ: Lawn / Ferguson / Docherty
6. Netherlands: Vlerken / Bij De Vaarte / Kinnegim
7. Germany: Kraft / Wallenhorst / Leder
8. Japan: Imaizumi / Miyuzaki / Shiono
9. USA B: Smyers / Kehr / Loeffler
10. Switzerland: Badmann / Cisarovski / Matter
11. Canada: Norton / Wurtele / Gross
12. Team Latino: Berasategui / Keller / Dogana
13. Scandanavia/Austria: Boman / Kollers / Stadlmann
14. Misc: Louison / Cosmor / Meyers
My brain hurts. Too much headwork.
I'm just gonna watch and be excited by the outrageous efforts of all who participate and envy them their time in the sun.
Nice research though. Good luck with your forecasts.

We all know it's going to be Macca and Wellington taking the spoils on 11 Oct so to keep interest levels high and ensure a fair go for all followers of the great race we have the Davis Cup format! The points system is basic: 20pts for 1st through to 1pt for 20th. The teams are made-up of 3 athletes from any one country, more than one is permitted. The points each athlete accumulates come 11 Oct are added up and the team with the highest tally is the winner! The mens teams are listed below (geographic licence has been used where pro competitors were in short supply for any one country) in the order I think they will finish (of course I selected each team based on performance and my inherent bias):
