I have my first race coming up and the water temp will be about 68 degrees. Does anyone recommend wearing a wetsuit for that type of temp? Also, I know the other added benefits of wearing a wetsuit but at what temp do most people wear one to keep them warm?

Thanks for the help.

It really depends on the distance. If you are doing a sprint, then I wouldn't worry about it. The time it takes to get out of it will not make up for the speed gains it provides for such a short swim. Anything longer and I'd go with a wetsuit. Also, I don't like cold water, 65 and below would definitely be wetsuit time for me regardless of distance.

Thanks for the response. The swim is a 1/4 mile so it is a short swim. I think I will do without one this time but any longer or any colder and I am investing in one.
