a wedding and a race

Our wedding was awesome! It couldn't have been a more perfect day, better company or food, or anything.

We practiced our quick changes in the parking lot:

And left in a method perfect for a couple that met through their bike mechanic:

And then it was off to Canada for a reception with Mike's family there, and our honeymoon Muskoka 70.3 race. It was a tough race: raining (but at least not cold) and nothing flat about it from the minute you left the swim! Even getting to T1 involved a serious climb. But it was a beautiful course and a very well-done race. I'd recommend it to anyone -- but be ready for a long course (really on the bike, and felt like it running). And yes, we raced in bride and groom jerseys, and my visor did have a veil.

I've updated my blog, but as a warning these were clearly huge and special events in my life, and as such the posts are long *even by my standards*. But... here they are in their full glory:

What, Mike didn't carry you across the finish line? I didn't see anything against it in USAT rules. :)

You're a beautiful couple, I wish you both many, many happy years together.

congrats! If I ever get married THAT'S the way to do it! I'm trying to think of a bad referance to "chain rings" on a bike but it's just not happening.

Looks like Mike beat you to Kona, though. (Why is an 8-hr finish in the dark?) And oh how I could 'shop the pic of you in front of the van . . .

This is one of those times you don't even need photoshop... just a Kona 05 or 07 pic of him ;) Except then it would be light.

Whoa, that sounds soooo good. Mint choc chip and cookies n cream are my favorite.

I'm glad the entire event went well. You 2 deserve it.
