Oh, you can tell you're hooked! When you read: "slow","cramped", "sucked" and "fun" all in the same sentence, you can tell they're hooked!
Kudos!
...and thank you for your service.

Congratulations Hawkeye! I just had my first back in the spring and that euphoric feeling of accomplishment has yet to dissipate. Not to sound too much like a motivational speaker, but the only 'slow' time for a race is when you never start at all. Break a leg overseas, we'll be welcoming you back soon!
Congrats on the first race! And I'll echo the Thank You.
Don't make fun of 1:30, I just barely made it past that in my best time.... ;)
Thanks for the confidence everyone! I had been wanting to a tri for a while now and when this event came up, I jumped at the chance.....no excuses this time!! I've run a couple half marathons and other 5ks in the past so, the next event for me will be the Lake Kawaguchi Marathon/27k/Half-Marathon on Nov 30. I signed up for the 27k as it's 1 lap around the lake near Mt Fuji.......that definitely qualifies as the longest run I've even thought about. Should be fun :)
FLY NAVY !!!!
The fun part is now looking for the second one. Congrads!
Congrats! And FWIW...I did my first sprint in 1:31:17, and I thought I did pretty darn well. I was in the top 14% of all finishers (roughly 1,920).

Okay, I am totally psyched that I've finally completed my first tri!! It was a sprint in Yokosuka, Japan and, despite being underway for the better part of 6 months on a carrier, I had a LOT of fun! Good people, fun course and a whole bunch of learning today! Yep, 1:30 is slow but, I had a goal of finishing and not finishing last....got 'em both :) Transistions slow, cramps in the run sucked, overall fun. Looking forward to the next one!
