I have been looking around and so far with no luck I have not been able to find a tri bib-short. I have pretty much only seen tri shorts. Does such a tri bib-short exist and what are people's take on wearing it during a triathlon vs tri shorts?

bib shorts... as in onesie? I've had my eye on this one, I may pick it up next year.

2xu also makes some nice stuff.

Weary is the path that does not challenge.

There are one-piece suits you can get. I race in a tri short and a top because that's what the jersey for the team I used to train with was. It doesn't look as silly if you do the shorts thing and throw the top on to bike/run, but if your trying to take seconds off your T1 then go with the one-piece. if your doing a wet suit the one piece also helps the wet suit come off easier. unless your getting really serious it's 6 one and a half dozen the other.

I was not so much thinking of the onesie, i have seen those, I was thinking more of the true cycling bib shorts style that help hold up the shorts better like this http://www.trisports.com/pearl-izumi-mens-pro-micro-bib-short.html. Coming from a cycling background I have grown a custom to those and fear that the regular shorts will not stay in place.

I don't think there are bib shorts for tri's...I've never seen them. Other than a one piece, which are fine for short races, most folks want two pieces for racing. In a potty stop mid race it's much easier than having to whip off your shirt just to get your shorts off. I wear both, but bibs only for training...the shorts stay up fine.

I just wear tri shorts for the whole event. Never had an issue with them staying in place. The drawstring works real well on the Pearl Izumis I wear, unlike with some road shorts.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Sounds good, I have not tried to run in bib shorts but I could imagine it not being that comfortable and lots of chaffing.

I wear a one piece and it I love it. For me its comfortable and it breathes well, keeps my crew in place nicely on the run as well.

Do the pro thing and either let it go without stopping (the material is designed to wick moisture away, right?), or lift up your shorts leg and pee out the bottom. Doesn't help too much with a GI problem, though. I'd hate to think how I would react in my onesie if that were to happen to me.
