So i have reached a point where it is time to get a new bike. I have a felt f70 that i love and is still going strong but seeing as it is getting older i think it is time to put another gun the holster. I sat around debating if i wanted a tri bike or a new road bike, i have decided that since my road bike is going strong i am going to go tri. I am ripping my hair out trying to pick one. There is no tri-store where i live so i am using the measurements of key areas to like top tube to help me decided and feed back (where this post comes in) from people who have ridden them. Every rep tells me their bike is the best, i work at an LBS but my boss is not much of a tri geek so his help comes in with quality and who may have worked the hardest on the bikes. Here is where i am at with my picks, Felt b2 just the basic one, b12, Orbea Ordu Force Group (my pick for best looking), Orbea Ora, Cannondale Slice 3, and we also do scott but i have not looked at the plasma much. So any help with it weather you own one or know some one that does. I dont know what to do but the b2 and the Ordu are on top right now but the slice has some cool tech in the rear triangle that helps take vibrations. Just throw some stuff out i am will to listen to any thing. You guys have been really helpful in the past and i thank you for any ideas.

If your going to do something wrong enjoy it.

I believe the Scott and the Orbea have slack seat tube angles so I'd knock those off my list. The Felt varies based on size but of the choices, I'd lean towards one of those. The Slice has a dual position seat that can get you slack or steep but I don't know much about it.

You work at a bike shop, have you been fit? Are you flexible? What are you looking for in a bike? Comfort or speed or both?

I am looking for for a little of both, i know i want it all typical person, i have been fit and i know what i need. I was not aware about the slack angles on the Orbea that was then kind of help i was looking for. Based on that I think the felt is where i may end up.

Orbea Ordu . . . (my pick for best looking)
Absolutely. Hands down the sexiest tri bike going right now. The moment I saw it I thought of a stealth bomber. Anyways, totally a subjective pick, but when I was in Spain I went into an Orbea shop and listened to Spaniards talk about normal, every day club rides . . . in the Pyranese. Jerks. :)

I really like the Felt B2's look, but I think the 2008 paintjob is way more sexy!!

I vote you buy a P4. Then let me borrow it from time to time.

I got the P2C. Turns out my best fit wasn't at the steepest setting based on my body geometry, but rather on the steep side of slack - fit trumps seatpost angle all day

totally agree fit is everything

i was just referring to the look of the physical geometry, not the fit geometry (two different things)

This is how I want to buy a bike. Get a $3000 fit that comes with a free bike. Most of the time when I read a "newbie here looking for bike" post, everyone suggest they get the one that fits best.

I'm not sure what's sexier than picking your own design and colors. It's like eating at BD's Mongolian BBQ, if it sucks, you only have yourself to blame.

*I'm not affiliated with either Serotta or BD's, but I would gladly mention them in every post in exchange for a bike and a few meals.

There is a wealth of choice when shopping for a new bike. Ultimately you should rely less upon what others favor and more upon your own criteria. Test riding each of the bikes on your short list may be the most important step in the buying process.
