Anybody try these yet? I was also looking at the PX90, anyone try those videos?

Buddy of mine got the Time Trial Version of the Spinervals series and he said he really like it. I havent tried my Sufer-o-Rama DVD that I purchased yet.

Yeah, the Spinervals StrEndurance 1.0 dvd. The first word that came to mind was ouch! That’s because I remember the soreness after starting the program. Don’t get me wrong, ouch and soreness is a good thing. I just wasn't use to doing that type of workout or those exercises.

On one hand I found it very useful on the other hand I found it to be a little repetitive. I liked the fact that it was a short workout and that I could do it at home without having to go to the gym. The repetitive thing comes into play when doing the 9 workouts in 2 weeks. Basically you do the same thing for that time frame and then move on to the next workout on the dvd. The next workout will have some of the same exercises and maybe one or two new ones. In general throughout the dvd you will have the same exercises. I just wish they could have changed it up a bit in the 9 workouts in 2 weeks, like have an A and B option.

You will need a few items along with the DVD.

Also, I wish they would have done a little better job showing how to do the exercises.

I think PX90 will be similar in the sense that they will teach/show you a set of exercises that you will repeat, not sure, haven't tried it.

I've done a lot of the spinerval dvds...suffer-o-rama is pretty good...they're all pretty good. I think I managed to do most of them over the course of a winter spin session. Granted, watching Troy that much can get a little annoying.

This is a Spinervals brand DVD but what he's talking about is NOT a bike training Spinnervals DVD, it's actually a core workout, strength training DVD, totally different. Good DVD to use in the off-season / pre-season so you don't get sick and tired of training on the bike.

I haven't seen that spinverval DVD series - but I like the sound of it. I do like P90X. There have been a few recent threads about P90X. I'm in my first recovery week of and I'm currently very happy not to be sore for a day or two...

I travel quite a bit for work. Do you remember off hand what items are needed?

I wonder if these strEndurance spinervals are as intense as the px90. I really need to gain strength and not just core muscles.

I was thinking that the endurance spinervals are wimpy compared to the px90?? and wouldn't help me get the strength.

Not all of the exercises require additional equipment. The basic items needed would be a medicine ball and dumbbells. I think that was it. Once you learn the exercises and the concept you could probably do this without a DVD, I say this because you said you travel a lot.

P90X has LOTS of room to go to gain strength. I've been a pretty strong guy most of my life (much stronger than I was fit when I started Tri's), and I am barely getting to the strength level to really do the full p90x workouts after 3 weeks of Phase I. I'm a little scared of how sore I'm going to be in Phase II given that I have much better range of motion and strength now. You can really push yourself in the workouts and gain alot of strength.

I'm interested to look at this spinerval set though - I, in general, think Coach Troy does a good job with his videos, and if this series is in line with the regular spinerval videos, it could be interesting.

Crossfit is also kind of interesting sounding, but I haven't really reviewed any of the workouts. I've just read lots of good things, visited the site a few times and registered it as a "I gotta look at that someday" type thing.
