Camping out at IMC
For the last 2 IMCs I have done, my son and I have camped out in our van on the street just behind the Peach. PoC and I have done this for other 1/2 IM events as well (Oliver and Desert Half). There are camping locations in Penticton but far from transition (Skaha Lake side), spaces fill fast and they charge. Sucks. If you have a car that has room or a van, it might be a choice for you to sleep in it. If you want to do it we have free parking along the streets of transition, the lake is a good place to wash and there are washrooms behind the peach. It's doable, if you like to rough it other than that there are camp sites available, but like I said, they are a bit far from transition.

There are no excuses - so don't look for them. As a product of your own choices, you directly determine your life outcomes.
Don't think, just do.

Like BBB said there are camp spots , about 7 miles from the start/transition on the Skaha lake end...approx $40/night for spaces with electricity and shower(I looked into it myself, but have since gone with a hotel). Just google "camping Penticton".

Does anyone have any tips on camping out before a race?
Thanks.
