Anyone doing it? I'll be there tomorrow running (in sweats it appears, damn it was cold this morning in the North East). It's a fantastic race where I PR'd last year. As I've heard several people describe it "It's more of a track meet, than an endurance race". Anywho, it'll be pretty sweet. I'd love to run into some Trifuelers!

Stephen,

Sorry for the really late reply, but I didn't log in yesterday. I am having my coffee in preparation for my 9th PDR in a row. It is my favorite race and only streak I have. Doubt I will recognize you in the crowd of 10,000 but I look forward to hearing your race report. It is a fast course.

GDF - this was only my second running but I hope to establish a real streak myself, such a perfect course. Report is at my blog, below.

Great time and report Stephen. Way to keep getting faster as the race progressed. Kelly Dr. is a race course.

My day was dramatically different. I was shooting for a 1:23. Stepped in a pot hole at mile 2 and slightly hyperextended my knee. I started to give in to the discomfort and slowed down a little by mile 5. My stomach started to bother me and I was done and in the port-o-let by mile 8. Finished in 1:30 with a limp and shivering with a major stomach problem. I didn't quit though. I never had a bad experience in a half before. 1 out of 14 isn't bad. I'll get them next year. We have to try and meet up in 09.

Absolutely. Actually, I wonder where you hit the pothole. I remember hitting a series of really bad road-patches around mile 2 myself and thinking "geez, someone it going to break on ankle on those". It looked liked some last minute road work they just through together for the race.

1:30 is still an excellent time. I pr'd on this course last year with a 1:23:15, when it was an A race for me. This year I decided to run the East Hamptons Marathon this coming saturday so I've been taking it easy. My coach is had me do a 1:40 in the Queens Half last weekend, and a 1:30 in philly, but as you can see I just had to be a dumb runner and push it.

Are you doing the Philly marathon? It's my last big race of the season! It was gorgeous last year!

I will be at the Philly marathon. Shooting for a 2:59. i should be there an hour early. We will set something up.

I hit the pothole at mile 2. Was mad at myself for losing focus and not watching where I was going.

Awesome, let's try and meet up. 2:59 is a little much for me. PR is 3:15 and I'll be coming to Philly after the Dublin (Oct. 27th) and the New York (Nov. 2) so who knows what kind of condition I'll be in. It would be pretty sweet to BQ!

Stephen, Dublin is my dream marathon. Plus 4 marathons in the fall is awesome.

6 days until the Philly Marathon. Tapering stinks. Anybody besides Stephen running?

Heyyy guys, got the update and realized, holy buh-sheezy it's been a while since I've been on.

I'll be in Philly but I don't think I'm going to be doing the full, perhaps only the half. It's too late to switch but I figure no one will stop me if I want to cross the finish line. Who's going to be there? Anyone wanna get together on the starting line?

I should be there about an hour beforehand. I usually hang to the left of the Art Museum to take advantage of the small patch of woods rather than deal with 50 deep port-o-let lines.

jtrimom, thanks for the reminder. Had some activity last night and feel much better about my taper today.

"Activity" is my favorite part of tapering, and my favorite part of training, and my favorite part....
