I think I may be addicted to trail running.

A few months ago when I bought running shoes I accidentally bought trail running shoes. So I decided to try trail running because there is a mountain to run on about 3/4 of a mile away from my house. I love it. I haven't done a non trail run for several weeks now. I don't know if I will ever be happy running on the road again.

I like running on trails too.
The impact is easier on your legs, but challenges different muscle groups.

I find it to be safer than running on the road where a car can take you out.
It is also nice to get out into nature. I can run a long time out there.

Overcome, you need to come visit Montana. Trail running is the standard here! With the state being as big as Germany and having fewer than 1000 people we have a lot of nothing which is kind of my favorite.

I think that training on trails makes stronger runners over all. The variable surface requires stronger ankles and being more sure footed which can do nothing make you more able to compensate for surprises. Glad you like the trails, have you ever thought about an Extera tri?

indeed, you are now afflicted with an incurable disease. your palms will get sweaty as the days grow cooler in autumn. pounding out your local close to home pavement you will find your mine free - wandering through mountains, over streams and open meadows.

just give up - douse your road runners in gasoline and immolate them in honor of your new mistress!

welcome to the club....

Down side?
If you run on trails all the time your legs do get used to it....which means that racing on the hard surface of a road will reek havoc on your legs....make sure you get time on the road too.
Sure, running on trails is easier on the legs and does tend to make the legs stronger over time...accidents tend to be more catastrophic...torn ligaments, sprained ankles wrenched knees....
Maintain focus and have fun!

I love trail running. I dont run on paved surfaces unless I have to.Dont try mountain biking or you may hang up your roadie for good. Psh, go ahead and try it if you havent its a blast. And it makes you a stronger, more well rounded rider.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
