Am I understanding the principles of a formula one format correctly?

Swim-bike-run then repeat times x number of times?

I am the great Cornholio! I need TeePee for my bunghole. Don't make my bunghole angry!

I believe that's it. My only F1 format experience has been with duathlons, though. The recent posts re: Buritto Nation and 24hrs of Tri may shed some insight into this multi-tri format. I think this is the next big thing in tris because it will allow people who want to go and short and long to register for the same race.

Yeah you are right. I haven't done one, but I would love to. There is one this weekend in Akron, oh, and I would do it, but unfortunately I'm injured... so I'll just be watching instead. I think it's a great thing, just to challenge people in other ways than the usual.

I'm doing that one. Biggest concern is the multiple transitions and not to sound really dumb, but I'm debating not wearing socks.

Bummer on being injured, get well soon.

I think it'd make for one helluva training weekend!

Weary is the path that does not challenge.

I think these would be a blast to do as a team.

your wetsuit would not be wearable after the first transition because it would be wet.
It would be hard to swim again when tired - kind of introduces a risk factor there.

If you haven't practice with no socks. I would not do it with out socks. It takes some time to get your feet acclimated.
