Congratulations... Good Luck... and Ciao!!!
We hate you...some of us secretly, some of us not. (good natured, but jealous, ribbing)
Have a great time! See you when you get back and looking forward to the blog about the trip!
One question though..No aero bars?

what a wonderful adventure for your family...I don't think I have the guts to do anything that exciting with my 4 little kids just yet, I think we'll stick with Disney parks for the next few years. But it sounds like a blast and a cool learning experience. Have fun!
That has to be one of the coolest family vacations I've heard of. You've practiced riding in wine country, but have you practiced drinking and riding in wine country :) This is also going on the "See honey, we can balance triathlon and kids some day" list. Have fun and let us know how it goes.
Have a great time! Sounds like a great idea for a vacation!

Agreed, coolest family vacation ever!
My parents were just in Rome. Now I'm jealous again. Wow. I'm going to look up those bikes!
Have a great time.

OMG, so badass. Have a stellar time!
We hate you...some of us secretly, some of us not.
You are so awesome! Have a safe and fun trip....can't wait to read your trip report!
Someday I'll do cool stuff like that.
I'm jealous. I hate you too. :)
Bike Friday aka the "Geek Bike" just got Geekier with the tandem.

After all the time you have spent sharing wisdom, you have certainly earned a vacation. Have a great time and we expect a VR when you get back!
Buon Giorno!!!
Have a great one! Someday I'll get to do something like that :)

I am reluctantly signing off of Trifuel for the next month. We're preparing to go touring around Italy with the kids on our tandem bikes, leaving in a week and there are just so many details to wrap up. I simply cannot let myself get sucked in, I mean interested in, thinking about triathlons right now. Must. Stop. Reading. Trifuel.
So to all of you whose race reports I haven't had the time to read or comment on yet, congratulations! Whether it's your first tri or your 100th, the effort deserves it.
To all of you with upcoming races this fall, best of luck! I hope you have a wonderful race day experience.
And from me: Ciao! We will be in Rome, then riding up from Perugia to Florence through the Italian countryside. We've been out training on the tandems with the kids a lot, we rode 65 miles over the course of one weekend, and this week we've ridden every other day pulling the trailers over our own rolling wine country hills. I think we're ready!
Here's our rides:
These are Bike Friday folding tandems. Each of the bikes goes into the two suitcases you see behind them. Arrive and unpack, stack the suitcases on the trailer, and pedal off.
