Buritto Union 10 Hour Tri
Those are weird distances to try to convert to an IM equivalent. It seems you would have to do 9 tris (because 8 x 3.1 is short of a marathon, hence not the equivalent of an IM). So 5400m swim, 126 mile bike and 27.9 mile run in sub 10? That would be awesome. That run race does look really fun though.
Bubble Burster! :) I know its a little short and I should have said close to... its not exact but a good training day for me and... since there arent really any names going to this I have a good chance at placing in the top 3 so I am really excited but... I am just going to go out have fun do my best and hopefully reach my goal of 8 tris.
Oh yeah the website is... www.burritounion10hourtri.com
Very Similar to the 8 hour tri I did this last weekend -http://www.24hoursoftriathlon.com/. Are you doing it solo or with a team? If it is like the one I did, only the first leg has to be done in swim-bike-run order, and then you can mix and match all the legs however you want. I would recommend doing a few swim legs back to back, bike legs, back to back, run legs, etc. Does not make sense to do swim bike run in a single tri way over and over again. You will waste way too much time in transition. Figure out your strategy, how long it will approximately take to finish each leg, and put it in an excel spredsheet that you bring to the race. Also, keep in mind that you will not be running a 5K as fast at hour 7 as you did at hour 1. Just accept it now, so you won't get dissapointed when you don't go as fast as you think you should. It gets really complicated doing a race like that and likely YOU will have to keep track of how many of each legs you have done, not the race director. It should be really fun though so keep that in mind... you will need it around hour 6-7 when you just want it to be over!

I had the same question: I know at the 24 hour race that is the case. But at this Buritto thingy they are SBR in order. BTW, why don't you write a RR about the 24 Hour Race (the eight hour version). I want to do the 24 hour version next year.

Actaully I think you have to do it in the sprint tri order. And I am doing it by myself I was going to do it with a friend however he flaked out on me so I am doing it on my own which actually I am happy about. It will be a good kick off to see actually how much work I have to do for the brutal season next year.
2009:
Vineman Full
Ironman Cozumel
TBD: Two or Three Halves need some help picking them out yet.
Hey just curious how the Burrito Union Tri went, I live up near Duluth and have eye balled this event the last two years. Hope all went well.
I'm curious to see how the race went also. I really wanted to do it, but ended up doing Square Lake instead, which is a beautiful course. I'll do Burrito next year - looks like a ton of fun! How was it?
The tri was great and I did really well. I took 1st in my age group and Fourth Overall.
I will first say that I should have done my seventh tri I was in perfectly good condition and really felt good my last tri. Looking back now I know I could have caught the leader I was in second the whole time. When I finished my final tri it was a torrential down pour and since I dont handle on the bike very well I figured it would be best not to go rip down the hill at the beg. of the bike at 40 miles per hour. So I decided to call it quits... unfortunately what I know now is the leader did his last tri in over 2:00 hours and me being just a measley 10 min behind him would have smoked him and won. But for my first tri that I have done lasting longer than 2:30 I am happy with it and dont think I will ever go back to the short stuff again. I have discovered though this experience I am a great grinder and can just go at a medium pace for a long time without complications to my body (cramping and all that other stuff people get).
I will be there again next year for training purposes as I have an ironman two weeks before it and another a month after it. It was a great time and a great event though. Thoroughly reccommend this one!
Thanks for asking guys and I am now going to take the next week off of training becuase I have a long haul ahead of me for the ironmans I am doing next year.
Nice finish! Very Impressive.. You rock!

Ok...
So my first really long distance event is this weekend and I could not be more excited!
Its a Sprint Tri (600M Swim, 14 Mile Bike, 3.1 Mile Run) as many times as I can in 10 hours. My goal is to start my 8th one at 9:30. That way I can say I finished the equivalent to an IM.
Any advice? Anyone from the MN area going?
