Pumped for my daughters at school.
That's so cool! Best of luck to the family :)
I'm a volunteer coach with Girls on the Run, and I think it's tremendous any time a school gives attention and validation to kids (especially girls) physical efforts and succeses. Especially during a time when the schools are cutting back on PE, it's a good way to reinforce that it is important.
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
As a teacher I also think it is great that the school took some time to recognize what your daughters did. Unfortunately, it would never happen at my school.
Good luck this weekend.

that's fantastic..what a great way to get kids involved and interested in our sport! Kudos to your school
They have moved up the date to tomorrow for the pre-race discussion on the morning TV show. I am going in and will update the comments tomorrow night. Can't wait to see their comments on training.

My 10 yr. old is on the "Morning Show" at school. Effectively an anchor for the 15 min. worth of announcements each morning.
My wife suprised me this morning telling me that my 10 yr. old and 5 yr old are going to do a little 5 min. breakdown of their first tri. experience this Friday nad then a post race breakdown on the following Monday.
I am super excited that the school would even consider kids doing a Tri. important enough for a little pub. time. Generally this is reserved for the boy scouts and girl scouts or other school events.
Also I am going in to see the broadcast on Friday and then again on Monday. everybody hope that Hanna stays out to sea or this could be one wet experience for both girls and I this weekend.
