So I took my old, heavy, quasi-mountain bike from CostCo and added one of those hitchhiker / tagalong dealies for my daughter. See the link for a close picture.

Phew! Heavy bike + bike third wheel + 4 year old = quite the hills workout

I seem to remember ironmom posted a similar picture. Anyhow, it's a great workout and my daughter really enjoys coming along for the ride.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

I love it! Pulling extra weight around is on the bike strength training...

It is a workout for you and it gets your daughter involved with you.
I take my girls swimming, biking, and playing(which reall is running).
I wear them out, I get a workout, and they don't realize they are exercising and having fun.

Now give me 20 ;-)
My kids would do that and I would get quite a workout.
Now they are 7 and 10, and they still want to sit on my back as I do a pushup and it is a little too much. ;-)

I can still do the double piggy back though.

Cool! My kids really enjoyed the tag-a-long when they were little, it's a great way to add resistance training and take the kids with you too! I'm glad your daughter is enjoying it. I also found that both of my kids learned to ride a two-wheeler really quickly after being on the tag-a-long, the whole balance thing just makes sense to them then.

Today I rode with my son on the tandem (now 12 y.o., over 5' tall and almost 100 pounds!), pulling a trailer with 30 pounds, through some hilly wine country (training ride for our upcoming tour), so the resistance training continues...

Y, I do the same thing and its great. Super workout, althought he always asks me why I'm slowing down near the end of the ride...

To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

My kid and trailer are only about 60lbs total, so I'm very impressed!
